Science into Sight

When you’re told you’re losing your sight, the future can feel like it’s disappearing. The moments. The faces. The life you imagined. But there is hope. Science is moving forward, turning hope into progress, and progress into sight.

Science Helps You See Your Daughter Grow Up

More than 1.2 million Canadians live with vision loss. When you’re told you’re losing your sight, questions take over. What will you do now? What will life look like? Will you see your daughter take her first step, graduate, get married?

By advancing research, providing expert information and fostering connections, Fighting Blindness Canada helps turn science into sight.

Fighting Blindness Canada’s Role in Advancing Vision Health

Research has already turned science into sight for many people living with a blinding eye disease. Today, up to 75% of vision loss is preventable or treatable with early detection. Research is on the verge of many more breakthroughs, and Fighting Blindness Canada funds world-class research to drive discoveries. We’ve helped researchers identify the genes that cause inherited blinding eye diseases and contributed to breakthrough clinical trials with the potential to restore sight.
