Sharing the Laughter. Seeing the Hope.

Fighting Blindness Canada’s anticipated fundraising event Comic Vision returned in-person this fall for its 22nd year of raising funds in support of vision research. We were so excited this year to see everyone in Toronto on October 27th at Liberty Grand, and in Vancouver on November 4th at the River Rock Casino.

Thank you so much to everyone who supported us by attending and donating funds for sight-saving research. Combined, our Toronto and Vancouver Comic Vision events raised over $400,000! We could not have done it without you.

Big Thank Yous

Thank you to Comic Vision co-founders Ann Morrison and Meg Soper for kicking-off the Toronto show.

Thank you to our Toronto host award-winning journalist and CTV Toronto’s Pat Foran, and Vancouver hosts Amy Goodmurphy and Ryan Steele who lent us their superior hosting skills and engaging energy.

Thank you to comedians Rick Mercer in Toronto, and Julie Kim in Vancouver for their hilarious performances.

Thank you for Jay Mandarino for leading the crowd during out Fund a Need moment in Toronto helping to set a new record for generosity at the event.

Thank you to Fred Lee for keeping the action going at the River Rock Casino with his unique auctioneering style and flair.

And thank all of YOU who joined us. Your support of vision research through the sharing of laughter is making a difference in the 1.2 million Canadians living with vision loss.

Live Auction

Throughout the evening, messages of hope and personal stories of people living with vision loss were shared, along with heartfelt calls to donate to FBC’s mission to fund critical vision research. Adding to the funds raised was FBC’s digital auction that ran throughout the shows and continued for a week afterward. The auction featured exciting travel experiences, unique gift packages, jewelry, artwork, and more – contributing over $15,500 to the total funds raised!

THANK YOU for the laughs and support. You helped make the success of Comic Vision 2022 possible, and together, we are moving vision research forward.
