Have You Seen Fighting Blindness Canada’s PSA Yet?

It’s made an appearance during hockey, basketball, and baseball games, popped up during an episode of your favourite reality show and has even snuck in between segments of the nightly news. Fighting Blindness Canada’s “Learn” Public Service Announcement (PSA) has been in heavy rotation since this spring and it continues to reach millions of viewers from across Canada every day.

As of the end of this August, the 15-second PSA encouraging Canadians to support the advancement of vision research aired a total of 2,312 times, reaching an audience of approximately 21.8 million viewers on 21 different television stations!

The PSA has been broadcast in all major cities, including Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, and Quebec City at all hours of the day on multiple television stations (CityTV, OMNI, Yes TV, and CHEX). Most notably, it ran seven times during the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals and 2022 NBA Finals.

With the Toronto Blue Jays now playoff-bound, NHL and NBA seasons getting underway, and the fall television line-up in full swing, expect to see FBC’s PSA sticking around a little while longer, reminding Canadian viewers that with everyone’s help, hope in sight can become a reality.
