Get active and MOVE vision research forward
In 2023, Fighting Blindness Canada’s Cycle for Sight fundraising event will mark 15 years and over $6 million raised towards sight-saving research. An incredible milestone and 100% due to the dedicated commitment of our Cycle for Sight family across Canada.
This June, Cycle for Sight will move again across the nation, offering flexibility and inclusivity to participate in any way you chose – walk, bike, dance, and just get moving with us! Like Albert Einstein said, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must keep moving.”
In-person and virtual participation opportunities make it easy to join the fun. For this reason, and many others, our Cycle for Sight community continues to grow, and we are thrilled to get moving together again!

History of Cycle for Sight
Since 2009, over 5,000 riders have hit the road on their single or tandem bikes, raising more than $6 million in support of Fighting Blindness Canada’s mission to advance vision research and bring hope to those impacted by blindness. In 2020, a virtual component to participating in the event was created and hundreds of supporters joined Cycle for Sight with their preferred active movement to raise funds for vision research.
Fast forward to today, we are pushing forward, breaking ground, and pulling out all stops to ensure that you have the “perfect one-day event” regardless of how you participate.
Words from dedicated Cycle for Sight participant Gideon Leoganda
One of our original cyclists, Gideon Leoganda of Vancouver is looking forward to cycling at this year’s event in Langley, BC and shares his words of encouragement,
“Come and join with your friends, for fun and for good cause, cycling is good for your health and we are helping Fighting Blindness Canada. If you don’t cycle, just move anytime, anywhere and fundraise for this great cause.”
