Inherited Retinal Disease (IRD): In Conversation

Webinar | Expert Q&A + Community Connect Session
Wednesday, May 20 | 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. ET | Zoom

 

Inherited Retinal Disease (IRD): In Conversation is an interactive evening designed to support learning, questions, and connection for people affected by IRDs.

The session will feature Dr. Brian Ballios, a clinician-scientist specializing in inherited retinal disease and ocular genetics. Dr. Ballios will share insights from his clinical and research work before opening the conversation to participant questions in an Ask-the-Expert format.

The final portion of the webinar will transition into a facilitated Community Connect session, offering space for participants to share experiences, reflect, and connect with others in the IRD community.

Coffee Connections: Western Canada

What are Coffee Connections?

Coffee Connections is a welcoming in-person meet-up for people affected by age-related macular degeneration (AMD) or inherited retinal diseases (IRD). These events are a chance to connect with experts and members in your community, share experiences, ask questions, and learn about living well with AMD or IRD.

Each gathering features a mix of informative sessions and social connection, including:

  • Expert conversation on the latest treatments and research for AMD or IRD
  • Opportunities to ask questions and get guidance from specialists
  • Time to network and meet others living with AMD or IRD
  • Panels with individuals living with AMD or IRD, sharing their own strategies and experiences

Coffee and refreshments will be available, and seating is first come, first served. Whether you’re newly diagnosed, managing your condition for years, or supporting a loved one, Coffee Connections provides a friendly space to learn, ask, and connect.
